REAL ESTATE: Stonegate project continues to grow

Realtor Dell Hudson is optimistic about the sale of new homes in The Village at Stonegate, located off Dozier Road. An opening of a new elementary school to serve the Emerald Mountain area in 2009 is the biggest contributor for it.

Homes will be built in the 1,500- to 2,000-square-foot range in the newer development. There are only a handful homes, out of 150, that are left in Stonegate. Homes with area of 1,800 – 2,500 square feet are being offered. This project has been downsized for The Village housing plans.

There are 90 lots for The Village for more than six months now. Also, the Stonegate development continues to grow and there is also an influx of people leaving the city life of Montgomery.

Builder Dave Gray so impressed with the promise of the neighborhood that he not only built his own house and several others, but also constructed a new home for his sister.

Gray and his family enjoys the views of downtown Montgomery and the quiet experience they have enjoyed the past two years living in Stonegate.

Gray, of Southern Builders, his wife and three children all are looking forward to the opening of the new elementary school. The location provides easy access to growing locations in east Montgomery and Elmore County.

The three-bedroom, two-bath home offers a great room with corner fireplace, along with a two-car carport. And a home is priced at $205,900 for 1,760 square feet of heated and cooled living space.
